Horizontal lines visually widen the wall, while vertical lines elevate the room. When stripes are formed in metal, a third dimension is added: light. Each edge of a stripe catches reflections differently depending on the time of day and viewing angle, so the same wall looks calm and matte in the morning, and in the evening, under warm lamplight, it begins to shimmer. Stripes tiles are moisture-resistant, and when combined with black fixtures and a freestanding tub, they create an effect that no ceramic can achieve. Copper, brass, or steel – how to choose The pattern is the same, but each metal tells its story differently: Copper has the warmest, pinkish-orange hue. It pairs best with greens (bottle green, sage), navy blue, and dark wood. It's also the metal that reacts most strongly to the light of the setting sun – if the wall is on the western side, the effect can be spectacular. Brass is gold in a subdued version. A safe choice for elegant interiors and any arrangement that already features gold or brass details. It looks good with both white and black. Stainless steel is the coolest and most neutral. The choice for grey, concrete, monochromatic interiors – where warm metal would introduce unnecessary colour. Practical advice: if there are already metal elements in the interior (faucets, handles, lamps), stick to the same family. Mixing metals can look great, but it requires skill – it's safer to repeat what's already there. How many tiles do you need? Three sizes, one pattern The Stripes set always contains 6 tiles, but you can choose one of three sizes for a single tile: 10 × 10 cm – the entire set approx. 20 × 30 cm. Ideal for a small accent: above a desk, console, in a niche. 20 × 20 cm – the entire set approx. 40 × 60 cm. A good starting point for a backsplash behind a single work area in the kitchen. 30 × 30 cm – the entire set approx. 60 × 90 cm, which is over half a square meter. One or two such sets already create a full-fledged accent wall. Modularity is an advantage, not a limitation: instead of ordering a wall "to measure," you arrange a composition of squares – symmetrically, in a checkerboard, in a strip, as the interior suggests. The tiles are square, so you determine the direction of the stripes (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) yourself during installation, and by mixing it between the tiles, you will achieve the woven effect visible in the photos. For a large wall – like the one in the dining room below – you simply combine several sets in a larger size. Installation without wall chiselling Metal decorative tiles are installed in one of three ways, depending on the substrate and location: mounting adhesive – most commonly chosen, on a stable, clean and even surface, tile adhesive – a solution known from classic ceramic tiles, e.g., in the kitchen or bathroom, double-sided mounting tape – for light decorative arrangements. None of the methods require drilling or grouting. In practice, this means three things: You can lay them on an existing wall – including ceramic tiles, glass, or furniture board, provided the surface is smooth and degreased. They are suitable for rental apartments – tape installation leaves no holes from dowels. Changing the arrangement is a matter of an hour, not a renovation. In the kitchen, the tiles work well on the entire work wall – also directly behind the hob. Metal is resistant to high temperatures and moisture, and the smooth surface is easy to clean. The same pattern works equally well in the kitchen as in the living room: Care: the wax museums know Each tile is hand-finished and protected with Renaissance Wax microcrystalline wax – the same one used by the British Museum, among others, for conserving its collections. The wax protects the metal surface and preserves its appearance, and daily care involves wiping it with a dry, soft cloth. What's important: you can refresh the wax layer yourself over time – just a small amount of Renaissance Wax and a soft cloth.
